Use time wisely

Speak kindly

Show respect (to others, their artwork, ideas, supplies, and tools)

Always try your best!

Art Curriculum/Syllabus

In Art class, we will work on building fine motor skills, creative problem-solving, and critical-thinking through exploring a variety of different media, styles, projects, artists, and techniques throughout the school year. Each successive year from Kindergarten to 5th Grade will build upon the skills and learning acquired the previous year. Imagination, confidence, perseverance, self-reflection, observation, communication, respect, collaboration, and diversity will be fostered through various age-appropriate projects that challenge and engage students.

FASD Art Department Mission Statement

The mission of the Freeport Area School District Art Department is to create a safe and caring atmosphere where students can develop a love of art through authentic, hands-on experiences. Students will learn to believe in themselves and in their ability to be creative. Each student will be treated with compassion, respect and understanding, and will be expected to treat others in the same way. We provide assistance to students with special needs so that all students are able to participate in an enriched learning environment.
